Chemical Processing

Flake ice is ideal for any manufacturing process that requires very rapid cooling and where the addition of the ice to the product is not harmful. Because it has the highest surface area per ton, flake ice can cool more quickly than other types of ice. In the chemical processing industry, it is most often used in manufacture of certain colors of azo dyes, optical brighteners used in soaps, and certain herbicides.
