Fishing

Depending on the customer’s requirements, both flake ice and liquid ice can be used on-board vessels during harvest, processing, and holding. For vessel icing, a flake ice plant is usually located on shore with discharge into boats alongside the dock. North Star flake and liquid ice makers can also be installed on medium to large fishing vessels to produce enough ice to chill harvested fish on the boat.  Processing vessels use ice to cool fresh fish until it is processed.
