North Star Liquid Ice Systems

North Star Ice Equipment, the world leader in flake ice technology, now offers of liquid ice system that produces a mixture of seawater ice and water for faster cooling of highly perishable products.  When installed in a land-based plant or onboard a vessel, the North Star ice system produces and pumps liquid ice to multiple use points.  The system combines a reliable North Star liquid ice machine, mono-pump assembly, stand, mixing tank and control panel.  Each component can be located remotely for easy installation in tight quarters.

Liquid Ice System Components

Liquid Ice Maker
At the heart of the system is the North Star liquid ice maker.  Seawater liquid ice is made directly on its solid stainless steel freezing surface and is discharged directly into a collector screw, mono-pump or mixing tank.  The pressurized water path is also completely stainless steel.  Evaporator temperatures can be as low as -40°C or F for maximum production without danger of freeze-up.  North Star offers four models of industrial liquid ice makers with capacities ranging from 18 MT (20 tons) to 73 MT (90 tons).  Two or more units can be combined for greater capacity.  North Star liquid ice systems require an appropriately sized heavy-duty condensing unit.

Mono-Pump Assembly

North Star can provide a mono-pump assembly to pump liquid ice to a mixing tank for storage or directly to multiple use points.  The assembly includes a stainless steel transition chute, rotameters, a water pressure switch for safety, the drive assembly and additional values, clamps and fittings.

4-Cubic Meter Polyethylene Mixing Tank

For liquid ice storage, North Star offers a polyethylene mixing tank with agitator paddle and drive assembly, and discharge pump.

Electrical Control Panel

North Star’s control panel provides a remote start/stop station for the ice maker, mono-pump and mixing tank, and includes motor starters, overloads, fuses, timers and relays.
