Poultry Processing

 

North Star ice makers have been installed in poultry processing plants, both large and small, throughout the United States and in the key poultry producing countries of South America and Asia. Most applications involve the addition of North Star flake ice to the water chill tanks to remove the body heat from poultry after slaughter and dressing. In addition, processing facilities also use North Star flake ice to maintain cool temperatures of cut parts through all stages of processing, for case icing of fresh product prior to shipping, and for top icing shipping containers in trucks and rail cars.
