 CASE ICE DISPENSERS

Ideal for icing cartons or small containers, ice dispensers are live-bottom short-term storage bins that hold up to 1 ton (0.9 MT) of ice and can dispense it in small pre-set quantities repeatedly. Two models are available – CID1000: Insulated aluminum frame with hot-dip galvanized screw conveyors and plastic hopper with high level control; and CID1000SS: Insulated all stainless steel with plastic hopper and high level control.

Galvanized bins with insulated hoppers that provide temporary remote storage of up to 2.2 tons (2 MT) of ice. These live bottom bins are designed for projects that require dispensing of ice at high delivery rates at short intervals. They are typically installed near the point of use so ice is instantly available without having to wait for delivery from the main storage bin. North Star buffer tanks can deliver up to 24 tons (21 MT) of ice per hour. Constructed of heavy gauge steel and hot-dip galvanized.
When included and integrated with a North Star ice storage and delivery system, the buffer tank is automatically filled from the delivery system and refilled as it is emptied.
 ICE SLINGERS

Mechanical slingers throw ice at high velocity into hard to reach areas, such as the hold of a boat or the front of a trailer. Ice slingers can deliver between 20 and 30 tons (18 and 27 MT) of ice per hour.
 AUTOMATIC SALINITY CONTROL SYSTEM (ASCS)

This device improves ice quality and saves time and money by precisely regulating the salinity of the water used in ice making. The addition of a very small amount of salt to the make-up water (100 to 400 ppm) enhances flake ice maker performance and promotes smooth machine operation. The North Star system is designed to accurately measure and maintain optimal salinity levels. It also eliminates the guesswork and constant monitoring of salinity necessary with non-metered systems.
 CONTROL PANELS

Integrated control panels are custom designed to control all North Star ice makers, storage and delivery components, as well as ice making, collection, and delivery equipment by other manufacturers. At the heart of the panel is a state-of-the-art Allen Bradley programmable logic controller (PLC), which can be programmed for single or multiple bin installations. The touch screen operator interface provides easy control of all components and shows system status and alerts. A stacklight offers immediate, highly visible notification of system faults. A built-in modem allows for remote troubleshooting support and program upgrades. North Star integrated control panels have received UL 508a certification, as well as ETL, cUL and CE listings.
PREFABRICATED BINS
Insulated panels with simple latching devices lock together quickly to form the ice bin and ice maker room.
ICE METERING
Volumetric metering of ice delivery within + 2% accuracy.
COMPUTER MONITORING AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT
Remote web-based or on-site monitoring and technical support via computer.
